HOME READING PROGRAM
Students are encouraged to read at home in French for 10-20 minutes five days a week. Your child will have 2-3 books (at their reading level) in a plastic zipper envelope for home reading. Students may also read any French books that you have at home or books from the school library. Books are selected by students and will be exchanged every Wednesday. The goal is to boost confidence and enjoy reading!
If your child is bringing home books that seem "too easy" or "too hard" please let me know and I will help them make more suitable selection.
I have asked students to write the date and title of each book they read in their “Home Reading” duotang. Your initials is required every day your child reads. The emphasis will be placed on daily reading rather than how many books you can read. When your child reads 5 days they will receive a sticker for their “gumball machine”. Once their “gum ball machine” is full of stickers they will receive a prize!
